AFRICAN DISCO Frank Gossner is probably the biggest collector of West African vinyl in the world. He even spent three years based in Conakry, Guinea building relationships and shuttling through surrounding countries to find forgotten wax. Now he's returned to New York, where he throws the occasional party and puts together great compilations of his findings. Tonight is a combination of those two things, with a party celebrating the release of his newest comp, Lagos Disco Inferno. We always want to go and check Frank's parties out, but typically we're doing Mister Saturday Night, so you can bet with this week off that we'll definitely be down at Southpaw getting down to some African disco -- and we'll definitely be buying that new record, too!
